應避免的常見錯誤 in Under-辦公桌 理線

Even after a good cable-organizing session, things can go wrong. 以下是 the most common mistakes people make and how to avoid them.

Mistake 1: Overtightening Ties

Pulling zip ties too tight can crush the copper wires inside, especially with thin USB or audio cables. Always use Velcro-style ties that let you adjust tension. A good rule is to leave the cable loose enough that it can slide a few millimeters inside the tie.

Mistake 2: Poor Power Strip Placement

Mounting the power strip at one edge of the desk means devices on the opposite side may not reach. Worse, leaving it on the floor blocks cleaning. Place the strip in the center of the desk’s underside, at least 15 cm above the floor. This keeps it accessible for vacuuming robots and maintains equal reach to both sides.

Mistake 3: Skipping Labels

When you bundle several cables together, it becomes impossible to tell which is which. USB cables in particular look identical. Use colored cable ties or attach small labels before you bundle. A five-minute labeling step now saves hours of frustration later.

Mistake 4: No Slack for Future Moves

If you fasten every centimeter of cable to the frame, moving your desk or adding a new device becomes a major project. Leave about 30 cm of slack at each end of the cable run. This makes maintenance and reconfiguration much easier.

Mistake 5: Ignoring Heat Dissipation

Power bricks and AC adapters generate heat. Packing them tightly inside a closed tray creates a fire hazard. Choose a tray with ventilation holes and space out the adapters so air can circulate around each one.

Avoiding these five mistakes will keep your cable management safe, durable, and easy to maintain over the long term.
